Just thought I would update you girls on Fleur's progress. The baby is doing really well, is healthy and gaining weight. She is really cute, and very happy. Fleur has struggled a bit with what we thought was a hip problem from training earlier in the year.

Initially after the birth she couldn't sit up in bed, so consequently couldn't feed, change, wind or carry Jasmin and she has found this quite tough. She has had physio, which she said was more painful than the labour! They then sent her to a Chiropractor who informed her she has a slipped disc. She is now having treatment and still has some loss of feeling in her feet, which they say may indicate the need for a scan and possibly an operation. She is more mobile now and can walk from room to room now and again, but she is still on painkillers all the time and requires assistance with the baby 24/7. She is positive because she knows it is improving slowly and can't wait to be able to take Jasmin out in her pram, but she still has some work to do. She will probably be housebound for a good few weeks yet.

She is very grateful for the cards and gifts, and sends her love to everyone. It will be quite a while before she is able to get down and see us all, but I know she would love to be that mobile.

Please keep her in your thoughts and hopefully she will heal without the need for surgery.

Just a quick update for those of you that i haven't spoken to.

Fleur was scheduled to have an operation on the herniated disc which is causing her problems, last Tuesday. Unfortuinately she got an infection (mastitis) and is now on antibiotics. She is now scheduled to have the op next Tuesday (24th October) at The Grange (BUPA) in Bristol. Keep your fingers crossed for her. She will have a six week recovery period where she is very limited to what she can do, but hopefully after that, she will resume most normal activity and be able to do all the things she has been longing to do with the baby.

I will keep you posted as to how she gets on.

Just a quick update, Fleur had her op Tuesday and is doing really well. Walking upright and taking the stairs on, she is home now so hopefully will be back to normal in a couple of weeks. She is even talking about playing beach volleyball again one day Smile She really appreciates all the well wishes, thanks guys.
